Cycling Car Detector
July 2017

  • Through MOSTEC, an MIT summer program, created bike mounting car detector with a Raspberry Pi, an ultrasonic sensor, and python programming
  • The device emits varying alerts through an LED display and audio message depending on proximity of the car

  • Spearheaded the organization of "Blackstone Summer" event in 2018 and 2019 in collaboration with Experimental Station. Over 400 community members attended and accessed the free food and school supplies provided
  • Before 2018, led numerous local protests, hosted annual On the Table event, sponsored by the Chicago Community Trust and featured as a speaker for the Chicago Women’s March (2017) for this local based collective focused on the validation and amplification of the young Black voice.
